2. Data Processing When Using the Software Compass

To use the Software Compass, registration is required. We process the following personal data:

  • Email address
  • Company name

This data is necessary to create a user account and to provide access to the Software Compass.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis of Data Processing

The processing of your personal data is based on Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest is to provide a user-friendly, secure, and efficient tool that allows you to compare digital signage software. Specific Purposes:

  • User Management and Access Control: Your data is processed to manage your user profile and to authenticate your login.
  • System Optimization and Statistical Analysis: We use aggregated and anonymized data to improve the quality and user experience of the Software Compass.

4. Data Processing for Informational Use of the Website

If you use our websites purely for information purposes, i.e., if you do not register, conclude a contract, or otherwise disclose information to us, only the personal data that your browser transmits to our servers is collected. The log files are not stored together with other personal data in this context. The legal basis for these processing operations is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Since data collection for displaying the websites and storage in log files is essential for the operation of our websites and IT security, you do not have the option to object to this processing.

The Software Compass is hosted by Invidis. The server location is within the European Union. Data is not transferred to third parties or to countries outside the EU.

8. Log and Usage Data

To ensure smooth operations and detect potential misuse, we store login data (time and duration of login within the Software Compass). This data is used solely for internal security and tool improvement purposes and is not utilized for any other purposes.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Your personal data is retained for the duration of the subscription period. Upon termination of your subscription, your user profile and all personal data are automatically deleted. An explicit deletion request is not required.

10. Your Rights as a Data Subject

You have the right to:

  • Rectify inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • Delete your data under certain conditions (Art. 17 GDPR),
